Well, this is shocking news!

If you have a teenager who spends a little more time barricaded in their bedroom playing video games than you’d like, here’s something that may encourage them to come out every once in a while.

A Texas teen was recently playing video games in his bedroom during a thunderstorm when lightning struck near his home, traveled through the electrical system, and shocked him through a metal piece of his desk that was touching his body.

Fortunately, he was checked out by emergency responders and didn’t even need to go to the hospital.

Think student loans are keeping young adults from buying homes?

If you ask younger adults what debt is most likely to stand between them and buying a home, many would probably say their student loans.

It’s easy to understand why. College is expensive, and those loan balances can feel enormous when you’re just starting out.

But according to a recent survey of mortgage loan officers, student loans aren’t actually the type of debt most commonly preventing first-time buyers from qualifying for a mortgage.

Of course you love your kids. And if they ever need to move back home for a while, there’s a good chance you’ll be happy to have them.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean you want them living there forever! 😄
