I’m glad you’re here!
I’ve put together a nice assortment of bite-sized pieces of real estate news, entertainment, and resources I think you’re going to enjoy. (And maybe even learn a thing or two you never knew you wanted to know!)
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on tap:

•  Diss oughta do the trick

•  It’s annoying that landlords hold onto security deposits, but…

•  Before anyone writes a diss track about their landlord…

But first, let’s start it off with my…

Diss oughta do the trick
When two Cleveland tenants felt their landlord had treated them unfairly, they could’ve just written a nasty review online.

But let’s face it, future tenants probably aren’t looking up reviews for a local landlord, so that might not have made much of an impact.

Recording a diss track about her called “Never Rent From Cindy” and having it go viral, on the other hand, might do the trick!

The nearly six-minute music video includes actual names, addresses, texts, and recorded phone calls with their landlord, along with a few other accusations they make along the way.

It’s annoying that landlords hold onto security deposits, but…
When you’re renting while saving to buy a home, it’s tempting to mentally add your security deposit to the money you’ll have available for the purchase.

Unfortunately, you probably won’t get it back until after you’ve moved out, which may be too late to help with your down payment or closing costs.

But there may be a silver lining…

I recently published an article about one smart way to repurpose that security deposit.

It’s a good read if you’re renting and thinking about buying, or worth sending along to someone you know who is.

“How’s the market?”
I get that question a lot, and I’m always happy to answer it! But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. That’s why this newsletter doesn’t include weekly stats or price updates.

Besides, most people don’t care about real estate data until it actually matters to them. So instead of stats, I just try to keep this fun and entertaining.

Curious about a specific house? Wonder what your place is worth? Or just want a quick market snapshot?

Just hit reply and ask me! I’m always glad to give you any information, thoughts, or data you want. (And of course, no obligation or pressure! I love any opportunity to talk about the market.)

Trivia Time
The right to “quiet enjoyment” protects a tenant from which of the following?

A)  Other tenants making too much noise.

B)  Being evicted for listening to music at a reasonable volume

C)  The landlord entering the unit without notice or permission

D)  Having a neighbor with a loud dog

Click the answer you think is correct.

Before anyone writes a diss track about their landlord…
Finding out their landlord is selling the home can put a renter in an awkward position and bring up a lot of concerns and questions. What happens to the lease? Do they have to allow showings? Will they end up having to move out? If so… WHEN?!

Whether you’re renting yourself or know someone who is, these 9 tips are worth knowing and sharing if a landlord ever decides to put the place up for sale.

Preferably before anyone heads to the recording studio. 😜

The fact is…
