I’m glad you’re here!
I’ve put together a nice assortment of bite-sized pieces of real estate news, entertainment, and resources I think you’re going to enjoy. (And maybe even learn a thing or two you never knew you wanted to know!)
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on tap:

•  It takes a village…

•  …and sometimes a little help from your folks helps!

•  8 things that suddenly change when you become a homeowner

But first, let’s start it off with my…
Meme of the Week
To be fair, they usually haven’t seen all the OTHER houses their kid had to look at before finding one they actually love.

Sometimes it takes a village…
Back in 2015, a historic castle tower in Japan was moved about 250 feet so workers could repair the stone walls beneath it.

Now that the repairs are done, it’s time to move it back. And apparently, hiring a moving company wasn’t part of the plan.

Instead, 1,800 volunteers took turns pulling the 400-ton structure with ropes. And roughly 8,000 people actually applied for the chance to help!

If only it were that easy to find friends willing to help you move into a new house. Especially when they find out you own a piano.

…and sometimes a little help from your folks helps!
Saving up for a down payment on your first home can take a while. And while some buyers are able to get there entirely on their own, others get a little help from their parents.

But asking your parents for money isn’t exactly like asking them to help you move a couch. Even if they’re in a position to help, figuring out how to bring it up can feel awkward.

I recently published an article about how to approach your parents about helping with a down payment, including how to figure out what you actually need before asking, and why it’s important to talk to your lender before anyone transfers money.

“How’s the market?”
I get that question a lot, and I’m always happy to answer it! But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. That’s why this newsletter doesn’t include weekly stats or price updates.

Besides, most people don’t care about real estate data until it actually matters to them. So instead of stats, I just try to keep this fun and entertaining.

Curious about a specific house? Wonder what your place is worth? Or just want a quick market snapshot?

Just hit reply and ask me! I’m always glad to give you any information, thoughts, or data you want. (And of course, no obligation or pressure! I love any opportunity to talk about the market.)
