I’m glad you’re here!
I’ve put together a nice assortment of bite-sized pieces of real estate news, entertainment, and resources I think you’re going to enjoy. (And maybe even learn a thing or two you never knew you wanted to know!)
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on tap:

•  It’s a gray area…

•  Start preparing now before “someday” sneaks up on you

•  Don’t overlook these 5 small details before you have an open house

But first, let’s start it off with my…
Meme of the Week
Quick informal poll: How many trick-or-treaters do you typically get at your house? Fewer than 10? A few dozen? Hundreds?!

It’s a gray area…
Most people can recognize a Target store from a mile away, thanks to its signature red-and-white color scheme.

But apparently, those colors aren’t quite fashionable enough for one upscale neighborhood in the Hamptons.

The first Target in Bridgehampton, New York, had to ditch the familiar red exterior branding in favor of a more subdued gray look to fit in with the surrounding community.

No word on whether their Halloween candy selection will have upscale prices, but it’s probably a safe bet.

Start preparing now before “someday” sneaks up on you
Most people don’t wake up one morning and suddenly decide to sell their house. The idea usually starts creeping into their minds months, or even years, before they actually do anything about it.

And that gives homeowners something they often wish they had more of once they’re ready to sell… time to prepare!

But there’s a difference between getting a head start on preparing your house and spending money on improvements that won’t necessarily pay off.

I recently published an article about why it’s worth talking to a real estate agent long before you’re ready to sell, and how a little planning now can save you time, money, and unnecessary work down the road.

“How’s the market?”
I get that question a lot, and I’m always happy to answer it! But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. That’s why this newsletter doesn’t include weekly stats or price updates.

Besides, most people don’t care about real estate data until it actually matters to them. So instead of stats, I just try to keep this fun and entertaining.

Curious about a specific house? Wonder what your place is worth? Or just want a quick market snapshot?

Just hit reply and ask me! I’m always glad to give you any information, thoughts, or data you want. (And of course, no obligation or pressure! I love any opportunity to talk about the market.)

Trivia Time
When was the real estate term “staging” first coined?

A)  1972

B)  1989

C)  2002

D)  1999

Click the answer you think is correct.

Don’t overlook these 5 small details before you have an open house
You probably know you should clean your house and make sure it passes the sniff test before your agent holds an open house. But there are a few finer details that often slip under the radar of even the most attentive homeowners…

Here are five things you should add to your to-do list before your agent opens the door to welcome your first potential buyer.

The fact is…
Who knew figuring out how much Halloween candy to buy could require a PhD?
