Think you can look at listing photos like an agent? A fun little quiz you can take to find out
by Micah Ruddell
I’m glad you’re here!
I’ve put together a nice assortment of bite-sized pieces of real estate news, entertainment, and resources I think you’re going to enjoy. (And maybe even learn a thing or two you never knew you wanted to know!)
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on tap:
• They don’t build ’em like they used to. Well, at least this guy didn’t…
• Look past the letdown
• Think you can look at listing photos like an agent?
But first, let’s start it off with my…
Meme of the Week
I have to admit, laughing with my buyers about how awful some houses look in person is something I may enjoy a little too much. 🤫
They don’t build ’em like they used to. Well, at least this guy didn’t…
Italy has so many ancient ruins that you probably wouldn’t think twice if you stumbled across what appeared to be an old Greek or Roman amphitheater.
And apparently, plenty of people didn’t.
For years, tourists paid €40 for guided tours of “Anfiteatro Berico,” believing they were looking at an ancient amphitheater. There was just one little problem…
It’s annoying to go see a house you fell in love with online, only to see that it’s nowhere near as nice in person.
But overly enhanced photos may actually hurt a seller more than a buyer.
I recently published an article about why looking past your initial disappointment and seeing the house for what it really is might even put you in a better position to negotiate a deal.
Free Guide: How To Prepare Your House For Sale
Do too little and you’ll leave money on the table — or worse, not sell your house at all. Do too much and you’ll lose time or money on things that don’t have a good return on investment.
This is why I created this free guide to help you prepare your house just the right amount…
…so you can sell it for as much as possible, and as quickly as possible.
I get that question a lot, and I’m always happy to answer it! But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. That’s why this newsletter doesn’t include weekly stats or price updates.
Besides, most people don’t care about real estate data until it actually matters to them. So instead of stats, I just try to keep this fun and entertaining.
Curious about a specific house? Wonder what your place is worth? Or just want a quick market snapshot?
Just hit reply and ask me! I’m always glad to give you any information, thoughts, or data you want. (And of course, no obligation or pressure! I love any opportunity to talk about the market.)
Trivia Time
According to a 2014 survey, what seemingly small detail turns off 43.4% of buyers before they’ll even tour a home?
Think you can look at listing photos like an agent?
After you’ve looked at thousands of listing photos for a living, you start noticing things the average person might scroll right past.
A strangely cropped photo. A carefully chosen angle. Something conspicuously missing. Even the order of the pictures can get you wondering what you’re going to find when you see the house in person.
