I’m glad you’re here!
I’ve put together a nice assortment of bite-sized pieces of real estate news, entertainment, and resources I think you’re going to enjoy. (And maybe even learn a thing or two you never knew you wanted to know!)
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on tap:

•  Must’ve been looking for a two-shark garage…

•  A little wiggle room could leave you with nobody to wiggle with

•  12 real estate headlines that aren’t really headlines

But first, let’s start it off with my…
Meme of the Week
I guess you could call this a pun-kin joke… 🎃

Must’ve been looking for a two-shark garage…
During a recent nor’easter that flooded parts of coastal New Jersey, one homeowner spotted something swimming up his driveway that you don’t typically see in the neighborhood.

A shark!

The roughly three-foot-long shark was caught on video swimming through the flooded streets of Surf City, making its way up a driveway before heading toward Barnegat Bay.

Apparently the house didn’t have everything on its wish list.

A little wiggle room could leave you with nobody to wiggle with
When it comes to pricing a house for sale, it’s understandable to want to aim a little high so there’s room to negotiate.

After all, buyers are probably going to offer less than you’re asking anyway, right?

Maybe. But buyers don’t know you’ve built some wiggle room into your asking price. They only see the price you’re asking, and that might be enough to keep them from even coming to see your house, let alone making an offer during those critical first days and weeks on the market.

I recently published an article about why building too much “wiggle room” into your asking price can backfire, and why pricing your house closer to what buyers are willing to pay may actually put you in a better position to negotiate.

“How’s the market?”
I get that question a lot, and I’m always happy to answer it! But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. That’s why this newsletter doesn’t include weekly stats or price updates.

Besides, most people don’t care about real estate data until it actually matters to them. So instead of stats, I just try to keep this fun and entertaining.

Curious about a specific house? Wonder what your place is worth? Or just want a quick market snapshot?

Just hit reply and ask me! I’m always glad to give you any information, thoughts, or data you want. (And of course, no obligation or pressure! I love any opportunity to talk about the market.)

12 real estate headlines that aren’t really headlines
Research revealed that the average home seller is hoping for nearly 10% more than what buyers are willing to pay.

For anyone actively working in real estate, or honestly, even casually tuning into HGTV once or twice, this isn’t exactly groundbreaking. Of course sellers want more! And of course… buyers want to pay less! It’s literally how real estate works.

So in the spirit of celebrating obvious truths disguised as shocking new research, here are 12 more real estate “headlines” that probably don’t need a study to back them up.

(And yes, the percentages are made up. This is just for a laugh.)

The fact is…
I wonder if the first home seller to complain about getting a “lowball offer” was a train conductor!

That wraps it up for this week!
Be on the lookout for the next one!
