This is pretty much the face I make when a buyer finds the house they’ve been hoping for. Minus the hamburger… 😄

This dog is making quite a habit of being rescued!

A Portland, OR family rescued their dog Henrietta six months ago, and apparently she’s already making herself quite at home and exploring every inch of the house.

She recently pushed through the screen of an upstairs window and ventured onto the roof to check out the view. Fortunately, some neighbors noticed her up there and called the fire department to literally rescue her.

How much “barkitecture” is too much?

If you’re a dog owner, you’ve probably made at least a few decisions about your home with your four-legged family member in mind.

But there’s a growing design trend called “barkitecture” that’s taking that idea even further, with homeowners adding everything from built-in feeding stations and cozy sleeping nooks to dedicated dog showers, custom kennels, and even entire rooms designed around their pets.

I recently published an article about why there’s nothing wrong with making your home work better for you and your dog… but also why you might want to think twice before making expensive or permanent changes that a future buyer may not appreciate quite as much as Fido does.

“How’s the market?”

I get that question a lot, and I’m always happy to answer it! But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. That’s why this newsletter doesn’t include weekly stats or price updates.

Besides, most people don’t care about real estate data until it actually matters to them. So instead of stats, I just try to keep this fun and entertaining.

You’ve probably heard that the three most important things in real estate are “location, location, location.”

And while I’m certainly thinking about the location of the house when we’re looking at homes together, there are a few other “locations” I’m keeping track of behind the scenes.
